WE ARE WILLIAMSTOWN1991 - TODAY

Williamstown Gunners Basketball Club was started in 1991 by Glenn Wright with Genevieve Pritchard (who became the first President). The club operated from the Altona North Tech Assembly Hall on Millers Road. Games were played at Altona North Tech, Altona North High, Williamstown Tech and Altona Green Primary School. Today Williamstown Cannons are the largest basketball club in the west with over 400 members. We have a proud history of success and we honour those members who contributed to our legacy of success.

WILLIAMS CANNONS LIFE MEMBERMARK JENNINGS

THE MARK JENNINGS HONOUR ROLE

Aged 54, Mark Warren Jennings passed away peacefully on Friday Dec.27, 2013. Dearly loved husband of Kerry. Adored father of Jessica, Matthew, Andrew, Luke & Chloe.

Mark was involved with Williamstown Cannons for many years from early 2000. He was Head Coach, coaching multiple teams and single-handedly coordinated all teams, Williamstown Cannons was a smaller club back then. Being on the committee, he represented the club at the Altona Bay Basketball Association and was well respected by all.

If it wasn’t for a determined gentleman like Mark, our club would not be here today.
On behalf of the Williamstown Cannons Club, we extend our condolences and our love and thoughts are with the Jennings family..

In 2014, the Williamstown Cannons Basketball Club named an award in honor of Mark Jennings which is presented each year to the best young player aged between U16 and U18 who is deemed to have made an exceptional contribution through leadership, dedication and service to the Williamstown Cannons Basketball Club and who is considered to be outstanding amongst their fellow team members.
