Cannons teams have compulsory weekly trainings held in Williamstown and surrounding suburbs

by volunteer Coaches who are supported by our Directors of Coaching.

We support our athletes with elite development programs by Coach Justin Schueller (Director of Programs)

who delivers team based Loaded Sessions and HABITS x Justin Schueller monthly on Sunday afternoons in Williamstown.

Cannons Philosophy Statement was written by our Junior Athlete Working Group which guides our Club programs and initiatives…

At Williamstown Cannons, we play basketball to have fun, try our best, make new friends,

feel safe and grow as a team. We work hard, support each other, and never give up—no matter the score.

We show respect to our coaches, teammates, referees, and opponents.

Win or lose, we always learn and improve.

Every player is important, and together we make the Cannons a team we’re proud to be a part of!

LEARN MOREABOUT CANNONS

The Club provides children the opportunity to learn and develop basketball skills.

We provide and promote a safe and fun recreational basketball program for children between the ages of 6 and 17. We encourage good sportsmanship and teamwork. We develop playing and athletic skills, and we promote friendly relationships among the players, coaches and parents.

Williamstown Cannons Basketball Club was established in 1992 and is the largest junior basketball club in the area. We have approximately 500 players representing around 450 local families in 60+ teams across the inner west including Williamstown, Newport, Spotswood and Yarraville. Our registered players have grown 45% from 415 in 2017 to the ~480 players we have today.

We are members of the Altona Bay Basketball Association (ABBA) and the Westgate Basketball Association (WBA).

The club is not-for-profit and is run exclusively on volunteers, including a Committee of 10 members, plus 11 age group coordinators, and 70+ each of coaches and team managers.

If you would like to get involved in the Club, please contact us to find out more
